The advice in this video is extremely biased and full of issues and glaring omissions.

  4. @noamlik on March 6, 2025 at 3:26 pm

This review is too general. You should have been more specific on the handmade aspect of each app, which was the title of the video.

  5. @JamesBoneTheGRCBlueBook on March 6, 2025 at 3:27 pm

Etsy has horrible customer service. In fact, you are not allowed to contact Etsy

  6. @hadnoideahow on March 6, 2025 at 3:28 pm

Shopify is awful. Not user-friendly, and expensive.

  7. @Bostoncrocus on March 6, 2025 at 3:29 pm

Very helpful for my clothing line. Ive decided not to sell online. I use local gift shops. Thank you from Lavoie Boho!

  8. @radiationroom on March 6, 2025 at 3:31 pm

Friends don’t let friends shop on Etsy. Or Amazon. Or eBay.

  9. @InCameraK on March 6, 2025 at 3:31 pm

Shopify does not work without a separate card . If it had a card to get at grocery stores it would be the main marketplace .they fail when they demand credit cards rather than allow all ages to get a card at stores. Gift card shops work. Amazon commits crime blocks buyers sellers and will end after law suits. They demand too much. Also their attempt to limit people is harm.

Shopiy is a Joke! They charge extra for everything – they make it complicated so you have to "hire an expert" plus it takes forever to shop up in google listings

  11. @locnessoftx on March 6, 2025 at 3:33 pm

    What about "Go Imagine?"
They seem awesome. I just applied. Does anyone know about this?

  12. @annclawsey1253 on March 6, 2025 at 3:34 pm

I think that no matter what platform. The basic is still the same…all in the marketing and promotions. Build yourself a budget for that reason to help boost your platform traffic

Great video, Zazzle is cool too

  14. @marywise5943 on March 6, 2025 at 3:35 pm

I have an Etsy store. They do not pay immediately after every purchase. There is a wait period unless you are a significantly large store.

  15. @Walizen on March 6, 2025 at 3:36 pm

Shopify is to expensive learn wordpress backend control almost no fees

  16. @sonseraedesigns on March 6, 2025 at 3:38 pm

Your products do not show up on Amazon unless the customer goes to the handmade section or puts in the search “handmade”. Hardly anyone does that.

  17. @worknplay5377 on March 6, 2025 at 3:41 pm

Amazon handmade is just as much a shill as etsy when it comes to being artisan only. I’m seeing the same 3rd party products on their site as Etsy.

  18. @munchkette on March 6, 2025 at 3:41 pm

It’s misleading to say etsy only charges 6.5%, that’s just the transaction fee, they then add VAT / sales tax on top of that fee, then there are other fees, so many fees then more VAT on those fees. They don’t provide a clear way to see how much they have charged on each sale like you can on ebay. Altogether the total fee etsy charges is more like 12.6% of each sale, more if it’s an international sale. If you promote your listing then that’s another 15% on top of the transaction fee. If you’re not careful you can end up losing money!

Thank you so much. This was so very insightful for me

  22. @debpeterson446 on March 6, 2025 at 3:48 pm

Etsy is just a website builder which means a person has to build traffic of customers, which is difficult to build.

Shopify IS NOT a selling platform/market…. is simply a Online Store Creating app…. its a great App, but it is not an online marketplace like amazon, Etsy and other online marketplaces…. sick of hearing these youtubers promoting Shopify as if it were an online marketplace….. Shopify does not create any online traffic….. its a web design app and then its all up to you to get traffic to your own site….

  28. @caesilva9844 on March 6, 2025 at 3:51 pm

Every company that becomes big corporation, I quit shopping. Period. I don’t like them and they bring harm to society. My ground for that is that I can live without them.

  29. @Rockthatjewerly on March 6, 2025 at 3:54 pm

Sorry but their is a selling fee with shopify

  30. @RobertMartinez-sz3uo on March 6, 2025 at 3:55 pm

I want to expand my business to marketplaces like Bonanza. Has anyone tried the ZeeDrop crosslisting app?

  31. @nikpik2011 on March 6, 2025 at 3:57 pm

Any advice on how to promote my shopify store? I haven’t sold anything!😢

  32. @gabrielamelchor938 on March 6, 2025 at 3:57 pm

So many programmers out there someone create a better etsy!!

  33. @soujrnr on March 6, 2025 at 3:59 pm

So really, DO NOT forget Etsy, as the video title suggests. I’d choose Etsy over every other listing given, even with the cons. Selling online and/or in person is NOT an "either/or" proposition;" it’s a "both/and." If you throw enough manure against a wall, some of it is bound to stick. So, the more platforms you list on to sell, the more that some of what you’re offering will "stick."

  34. @danialsaeed-y1e on March 6, 2025 at 4:01 pm

What I love most about DitchIt App is the focus on sustainability. It’s an easy way to recycle old items and find things I need without the waste. Buying second-hand has never been this seamless. Plus, I’m helping the environment one purchase at a time.

  35. @ZanetaMisutova on March 6, 2025 at 4:02 pm

etsy is a great platform ? It’s the most unfair platform I know. They charge you however you have ZERO profit from the site. They are charging you anyway. Also when you didn’t sell anything you will pay to Etsy. If they would take percentage from your profit, it would be ok. I didn’t sell even not one thing through Etsy, nobody even didnt’ find my products there and I paid around 50 dollars in one month of being there with my products. Really great platform. Minus 50 dollars is my result.

  36. @themetalfusionologist on March 6, 2025 at 4:03 pm

This coming from a guy who goes around saying “Forget (company)” on YT…
Doesn’t seem like legit advise outside of ETSY being garbage to begin with

  37. @TatianaBalashova on March 6, 2025 at 4:04 pm

Thank you for the video! The challenge with Shopify is that I wish it allowed to have 2-3 stores on the same account, not to pay per website, because in CAD it comes to quite a high monthly fee. If you need to take a few weeks/ months to set up the store or take a break, I assume you still need to pay the fees.

  38. @cherrywilliams5739 on March 6, 2025 at 4:05 pm

    Etsy used to be great.

  39. @ConjuringHome on March 6, 2025 at 4:05 pm

Taxes are 1 perk for Etsy. Each state has different sales tax requirements and having your own website you are responsible, therefore your paying for an additional “feature” approximately 60$ a month for sales tax to be handled appropriately. I believe the same goes for Amazon handmade but not certain, it’s a part of the % fee Etsy- 6.5% and Amazon- 15% is handling sales tax for you.

  40. @peterellis4262 on March 6, 2025 at 4:05 pm

Does the channel know that Etsy started as an alternative to EBay? Etsy is also just completely buried under mass produced junk that only qualifies as handmade if anything touched by human hands is handcrafted 🙁

  41. @joangil9224 on March 6, 2025 at 4:06 pm

This is a great video, but with how the landscape has changed in the last 2 years, would you consider making an updated one. Thanks for the great content!

  43. @kjmav10135 on March 6, 2025 at 4:11 pm

    That was super-helpful! Thanks!

  44. @colleenbudde2366 on March 6, 2025 at 4:11 pm

Sooo…..what is the best place to start if you want to sell? I see a lot of what isn’t good but that leaves me with no idea 🤷‍♀️ of what is…..

  45. @JuliaMalvar on March 6, 2025 at 4:12 pm

Etsy, Amazon Handmade and Ebay are Xenophobic! They don’t allow people from South America and some other countries to enter!

  46. @davidlang4442 on March 6, 2025 at 4:12 pm

Etsy seems to promote mass marketers over small volume sellers. Their algorithm pushes small volume sellers to the back of the bus. There you get far fewer views.

  47. @AminTheMystic on March 6, 2025 at 4:16 pm

Etsy is easily the best. Rest, other than ebay, are pretty useless.

  48. @shanaburris9341 on March 6, 2025 at 4:19 pm

Etsy has taken soooo much of my money it’s sad and ridiculous 😢
